D. Matthew Tanguay II

Undergraduate studies were completed at the Florida Institute of Technology with a focus on Marine Environmental Science and a minor in Water Resource Engineering. A diverse work experience was attained which includes conducting marine environmental impact assessments, groundwater remediation, and managing construction and operations for several advanced Seawater Reverse Osmosis systems in the Caribbean. Experience was gained in a variety of skill sets through this work such as understanding materials of construction and their application in various aspects of water treatment, hydraulics, and the effects of tropical marine environments on mechanical equipment. Managing construction of several large scale water treatment plants from greenfield to commissioning afforded the opportunity to develop a strong background in installing complex systems in challenging environments. Following the construction of these sites, management of the operations was performed with minimal downtime and zero safety incidents. This allowed further development of electrical, mechanical, and management skills.

• Installed over Four Million Gallons of Water Treatment Production capacity in the US Virgin Islands
• Managed a staff of operators with zero lost time due to injury or incidents
• Operated the various plants with an average 97% uptime
• Conducted numerous upgrades to pump and piping systems, electrical components, and pump replacements
• Utilized innovative ways to manage Sargassum Seaweed and intrusion into the seawater intake zone
